In Montana, there are stories as old as the mountains—stories carried in the wind, whispered along the timberline, and passed from one wanderer to the next. One of the rarest
half buffalo, half trout…
forged from the land itself.
They say it appears where the river bends just right, or when the fog lifts over a valley at dawn—a guardian of wild places and a reminder that the land is still full of wonders we haven’t named.
I grew up on those same rivers and ridges, sketching ideas, imagining creatures, and seeing Montana through a lens of story. Over time, the Buffalo Trout became more than folklore. It became a symbol—a way to express the spirit of the West through imagination.
I wanted to bring that legend into form - not through traditional painting alone, but through a modern creative process that blends vision, digital craftsmanship, and technology.
Each Buffalo Trout design is created digitally, using contemporary tools to explore shape, story, and texture, then refined into finished artwork meant for print and apparel. The focus isn't on the method but on the legend itself-honoring the imagination, humor, and sense of place that gave rise to it.
